She also sings backup on Ernest Tubb's "Blue Christmas"Oct 17, 1982Alcyone Bate Beasley dies from a stroke at Nashville Memorial Hospital. The daughter of Dr. Humphrey Bate, she sang with his band The Possum Hunters in the early days of the Grand Ole Opry. She also provided harmony vocals on Ernest Tubb's version of "Blue Christmas"
